Stanley:
A Raindrop's Story
Stanley
is the story of a little raindrop who always has a hard time with
his landings and tries to understand the fairness of his fate.
Inspired
by a scene in one of my novels, and written for my children, nieces,
and nephews, Stanley
made a bigger impact than I expected. It is a simple little story
for young children about the complex issue of why things can seem
so hard for them and easier for others. Although it was never meant
to be more than a small family gift, the comments I received led
me to add it to my site as a free simulation ebook, without the
download.
It
is still there, and it will remain for parents to read to their
children from the site:
Stanley:
A Raindrop's Story (a new window will open). I do ask that it
is not copied or reproduced in any way. It is copyrighted material.
I
decided, however, that because many children love for their favorite
books to be repeated often (and I can hope it will be a favorite
for some), that it should be published in traditional book format,
also.
The
images helping to tell the story on the site are photos of a quilt
that was specially made in honor of the book. I was quite flattered
by the project and am proud to have it hanging in my home.
The
images in the printed book are a combination of the quilt photos
and computer art enhancements.
