Books for Boots
As
the spouse of a retired career soldier and Gulf War veteran, as
well as having four great uncles who served valiantly during WW2,
LK Hunsaker has always been fully supportive of the military and
their families. When the opportunity to become part of the new non-profit
organization founded by Rick and Linda Galinas arose, she jumped
in with both boots, so to speak.
The goal of Books for Boots is two-fold. All money donated
or raised at book signings by affiliate authors goes to help family
members of injured service members who could not otherwise afford
to visit them in military hospitals. Affiliate authors also donate
a specified amount of books to the hospitals to provide reading
material while they recover.

Hunsaker has pledged 12% of the sale of every book sold at a signing
to be donated to Books for Boots. As well, one book will
be donated to military hospitals for every 5 sold at signings. Most
signings will be at local retail and book stores, but there will
also be special online signings to support the organization from
time to time.
